Matthijs De Ligt has impressed Bayern Munich with his impact on the field

Bayern Munich

Matthijs De Ligt has arrived at Bayern Munich from Juventus this summer in a big-money move. The Dutchman was signed to strengthen the defence after the departures of Niklas Sule and David Alaba. However, everyone expected the Dutch international to take some time to adapt to a new league.

The club has been pleasantly surprised by the impact that the defender has had on the team. He has not taken any time to adapt and has simply looked at home from the start. However, this is a piece of very good news for manager Julian Nagelsmann who has not been impressed with Dayot Upamecano’s form.

Matthijs De Ligt has brought all his qualities on the pitch for Bayern Munich and helped the club to a magnificent start this season. Furthermore, the Bavarians recently defeated Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League group fixture and impressed everyone. The team looks like a real contender for the European title this season.

Manuel Neuer is full of praise for Matthijs De Ligt

The German international has been the Captain of Bayern Munich since Philip Lahm retired from professional football. The Goalkeeper is a tall figure in the dressing room and his praise is not easy to earn. However, the National Captain has been full of praise for the new signing in Matthijs De Ligt.

Manuel Neuer in an interview said that:

There are only positive things to say about him. He’s not only vocal on the pitch, but also active through his body language. He’s always communicating. At the moment, our defense is looking very good. Everyone is playing at a top level.”

However, despite the early positive signs from Matthijs De Ligt, the club will have to work hard this season to achieve their goals as Robert Lewandowski’s departure will be a big void to fill in for the club. Although Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane have started the season very well, the road ahead is very very long!!
