PSG forwards Mbappe and Neymar have spoken about their bonding with Messi and their regrets. PSG thrashed Clermont 6-1 in their recent league match. Both, Neymar and Mbappe contributed with hat-tricks, while Lionel Messi provided a hat-trick of assists.
PSG and their lethal trio of Messi-Neymar-Mbappe
PSG signed Lionel Messi last summer with the hope of winning the Champions League. Messi was reunited with his former teammate Neymar with the hope to win the Champions League. They both along with sensational youngster Kylian Mbappe had failed to produce the magic that all of us were expecting. PSG was knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid which has raised some serious questions about their trio.
Moreover, Neymar and Messi were also booed by some PSG supporters. But, recent performances from all three of them have made some difference. The skillful attackers have produced 11 goals and 8 assists in their last two league games.
French forward Kylian Mbappe admitted that he regrets that it took so much time to build their chemistry. He said:
“The connection on the field with Messi and Neymar, it’s a shame it’s only happening now.
But we feel that we’re three quality players, and we try to help the team as much as possible and that’s what happened today.
That’s life, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, you have to keep looking forward. It’s in the past now. We had some pain, which is still present but you need to keep positive, we have to show that we’re a big club and a big team and that we’re here to win trophies.”
Neymar also admitted the same and he hoped that they will continue their same form. He said:
“First of all, I’m very happy to have won tonight. I’m also happy to have scored three goals. We’re getting better and better.
All three of us are at 100% but only at the end of the season. It’s a shame for us but we’re going to go and get what’s left for us in the league.”
PSG is 12 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with just seven games to go. Pochettino’s men are confident of securing the league title. But the question is will PSG be able to keep their star trio of Neymar, Mbappe, and Messi intact for next season?
