Midfield Shake-Up: Arteta’s Transfer Window Clearout at Arsenal

Arsenal Team

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is lining up a major clear out of his midfield in the current transfer window as several of the team’s regulars head into uncertainty.

Despite deciding to offer Jorginho a one-year extension with the team, the Gunners boss is planning on letting Thomas Partey go.

The Ghana international has been prone to injuries in the past season, and Arsenal is willing to sell a player who will be 31 next month.

Future Uncertainty for Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira at Arsenal

There has also been some consideration for the futures of Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira both of whom featured sparingly during the end of the Premier League season.

Emile Smith Rowe produced one of the best performances earlier this month in a 2-0 thrashing of Luton Town in a match played early April but only featured in the last two matches as a substitute.

The England international’s agents are expected to have negotiations with the Arsenal management as soon as the transfer window is open. However, most likely, the player will leave since he would wish to feature frequently for Arsenal.

Fabio Vieira’s Arsenal Journey: From Hopeful Start to Uncertain Future

The case of Fabio Vieira is even more baffling given how well he began the previous season with some good displays to start with.

A red card on his last start against Burnley back in November seemed to have relegated him lower in his manager’s plans. Also, a groin injury, which sidelined him for four months, also affected him during the period.

The former Porto star rejoined the Arsenal first team in March. Although he did not start any game and only warmed the bench on 14 out of 17 Arsenal’s remaining fixtures.

As reported by the Athletic, he did not feature much due to his displays in the training session and as to whether Arsenal try to get back some amount of the £35 million that was spent on the 23-year-old two years ago remains to be seen.

Albert Lokonga Set to Leave Arsenal Despite Loan Success

Although performing well on a season-long loan at Luton Town, it looks certain for Albert Sambi Lokonga to leave Arsenal. However, injuries kept him off the pitch for most of the time and limited his appearances for the team. Although he was loved by the former manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp.

Nevertheless, it appears that Albert Lokonga might leave Arsenal even though the team is in dire need of a midfielder. In an interview with BBC Three Counties Radio, Lokonga praised fans in Luton and even dropped a hint that he could return to the club someday. He said that to join Luton was the best decision in his life. He also extended his word of appreciation to Rob Edwards for giving him a platform to be part of the team.

Albert Lokonga Reflects on ‘Amazing’ Time at Luton Town

When asked about his time at Luton Town, Albert Lokonga had only good things to say about his experience. Referring to it as amazing and complementing the club for its values.

He also focused on the development of the team and how the club should change to meet the demands of the Premier League. Because of this, he said that he discussed with the Arsenal club and concluded that it was best for him to leave the club. Albert Lokonga said that his deal with Arsenal still has one year with a one-year option on top of it.
