Milan to announce 2 contract extensions

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are looking fine this season. The Rossoneri have made some great moves in the market and have managed to keep the same squad from last season. They will be giving their all this season, they also play European football. The fans will be having high expectations from the Serie A champions. Luciano Spalletti took his time but he has built a side that have taken Italy by storm. Nobody expected them to get the title last season over city rivals Inter Milan. But a side led by Ibrahimovic and Giroud did it against all odds.

The coming season might just be Milan’s biggest test. They have not won their first UCL game this season. In Serie A, they are looking fine as always with players stepping up. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently out due to fitness issues but will return soon. Meanwhile, the likes of Rafael Leao, Giroud, and Brahim Diaz have been in sensational form. Leao was even approached by premier league clubs namely Liverpool and Chelsea. But the Milan attacker never really considered any offer and nor did the club.

But this squad is not just about the few players on the attack line. Milan have been rock solid defensively too with Tomori being a revelation. But 2 of the unsung heroes of this Milan side are Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic. Reports say that Tonali will be extending his contract to 2027 and his salary will be doubled. The renewal of Rade Krunic will also be announced shortly as the midfielder is currently suffering from an injury. The Bosnian will be extending it for 2 seasons. This is brilliant news for Milan as Tonali and Krunic are vital to how the side play.

Can Milan defy the odds this season?

AC Milan have a lot to prove this season. Serie A 2022/23 has kicked off and the title contenders have been off to a flyer. AC Milan will once again be the number one contender for the league title. Juventus have not had the best of starts to their season. It is promised to be another blockbuster Serie A season where teams finishing equal on points on top will face off in a playoff match.

Spalletti’s side will look to make a statement in Europe too. The squad looks a lot more complete, with the addition of Charles de Ketelaere and Divock Origi. Europe is the aim this season for a side that failed to even qualify until a couple of years. The likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Barcelona, and PSG will not make it easy for Milan. It will be a season to look out for as Milan fight against all odds.
