Mumbai City FC 4-2 Jamshedpur FC: Player Ratings, Player of the Match

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Mumbai City FC ensured a win early on, putting 3 past Jamshedpur FC within 25 minutes for an emphatic 4-2 score. Labelled as a top-of-the-table clash, Mumbai City and Jamshedpur FC were both in impressive form coming into the tie.

After 4 games, the Islanders stood at a point clear at the summit. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC occupied 2nd place in the table, having resgistered 8 points from 4 games.

It took just 3 minutes for the opener. Cassinho was the first on the scoresheet, his Angulo-aimed cross rolling into the net. Bipin Singh (17′) made it 2-0 when the Brazilian presented him with a golden opportunity which was too good to pass up.

Angulo too got in on the action credit to a wonderful effort, putting Jamshedpur 3-0 behind at half-time. The Men of Steel did return stronger. Komal Thatal and Eli Sabia bagged goals to make it 3-2. However, Ygor Catatau made a cameo off the bench and put the game to bed with an outrageous volley.

Player of the Match

With truly what can be called a perfect game, Cassinho grabbed the Hero of the Match award deservedly so. Post-match Cassinho: “Its great to score goals, give assists, but the most important were the three points. Chennaiyin (MCFC’s next opponent) is a good team, but we have confidence that we can have (another) great game“.

The Brazilian scored the opener in stunning fashion. Then he further assisted 2 of the following 3 goals. He could have had more if Vikram had been more clinical in the box. Tracking back and aiding the backline as well, Cassinho helped defend the Red Miners’ lead.
