Newcastle look to bring in star English Defender

Newcastle United

Newcastle United, who have been improving every season, missed out on European football because Manchester United won the FA Cup. This created a lot of questions since they finished just 3 points behind Chelsea, who will be playing European football. There had been multiple occasions in the season where the backline of Newcastle failed to defend when they were leading. Such instances lead to them dropping points on numerous occasions. Had the backline been better then, they could have avoided Chelsea surpassing them on points. This could have led them to secure a place in the UEFA Conference League. This could have definitely helped the players gain more experience and helped them develop their game further.

Keeping this in mind, Newcastle have decided to add to their backline and are currently targeting Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo. The defender played a crucial role for Fulham, making sure they were safe from relegation as they finished in 13th position. His defensive contributions were second to none for Fulham, and he performed brilliantly on numerous occasions for the club. In his 25 appearances for the club, Tosin kept seven clean sheets and even scored two goals for his side. Fulham, who were recently promoted, have managed to stay up. He has played a major role in making sure they don’t play in the championship again. Fulham have cemented themselves as a regular in the Premier League again.

Will Newcastle be successful in the market?

Newcastle have already started their signings, as they recently brought in Lloyd Kelly. He has already been considered an amazing signing for Newcastle. However, at the moment, many clubs are gunning to bring Tosin Adarabioyo to the club. There might be a chance that other big clubs might jump in and snatch the defender. He has been known as a ‘special’ player and will definitely be a long-term investment for any club.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth recently appeared on The Fully Loaded Transfer Show. He mentioned that Newcastle have agreed on personal terms with the English defender. However, he also mentioned the threat of big clubs coming in and taking the player away. Dharmesh further said

“I don’t think that will be the problem at all, but reaching an agreement with someone who is a free agent and the deal being done are two different things at the moment because he will have interest from a lot of other clubs.” “A couple of people I have spoken to have said, ‘Yes, Newcastle have held talks with Tosin and his representatives, and there is confidence a deal can be agreed,’ but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will join Newcastle because there’s always the possibility, he can agree a deal with another club.”

The young Englishman has a big decision to make. He will have to decide soon if he wants to go to Newcastle, stay at Fulham, or even potentially wait for a bigger club to come in. The destination of the youngster remains a big question mark; however, it seems that Newcastle is leading the race and he will be arriving at St. James Park very soon. His addition will be something Newcastle fans look forward to and celebrate. The transfer market can be very unpredictable and will surely raise questions about what is next for him.

The price tag for players does not seem to be a problem for Newcastle. The main issue which they will be facing will be to convince the players to join their squad. Newcastle will have to find some strategy to make sure that they can secure the players which they want to buy.
