Yankuba Minteh’s future at Newcastle

Yankuba Minteh’s future at Newcastle United is uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches. The 19-year-old Gambian winger has returned from his season-long loan spell at Dutch club Feyenoord and has the opportunity to showcase his talent to Newcastle boss Eddie Howe. However, there are speculations that he might leave this summer.

According to Transfermarkt, Minteh has been valued at $15 million. His potential transfer could play a significant role in Newcastle’s financial situation, potentially earning the club a substantial profit as they acquired him for only $8.5 million. While this could be a successful business move, it would also mean losing an incredible talent from Howe’s squad.

How good is Minteh?

In the previous season, the talented youngster Yankuba Minteh made significant contributions while playing for the Dutch side Feyenoord under the guidance of the newly appointed Liverpool manager, Arne Slot. Despite Feyenoord finishing as runners-up, trailing the league leaders PSV by 7 points, Minteh’s performance stood out. At the age of 19, he showcased his prowess by contributing to 16 goals in 27 matches. His exceptional skills in dribbling, finishing, and creating key passes were evident throughout the season. However, there remains room for improvement in his crossing abilities, a key area for a winger. With the right mentorship and strategic utilization within an attacking team, Minteh has the potential to flourish and make a significant impact.
