About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Kerala Blasters FC continued their hot run of form, beating Odisha FC 2-0 to go top of the league, overtaking Jamshedpur FC once again. They are now unbeaten in 10 games, having only lost their opening match of the season. Solid at the back, they have conceded only 10 goals in 11 matches.

Meanwhile, Odisha FC have been in turmoil which has only worsened due to the pandemic. A few positive cases at the club meant that the squad needed to quarantine before their match. They were barred from utilizing the locker room and were set apart at the stadium to follow proper precautions.

Despite the circumstances, the Kalinga Warriors put up a brave display. However, they were eventually outdone by the brilliance of an in-form Kerala Blasters side.

Odisha FC 0-2 Kerala Blasters FC: The Game

Odisha were pressed hard by the team in form since the start. Kerala Blasters looked to assert their dominance over the opposition and were successful in doing so. In the 28th minute, Nishu Kumar put the Tuskers ahead with a brilliant finish.

It was a Ronaldo-esque goal from the Indian as he cut in from the left after being picked out by Luna. After beating his defender, he slammed the ball towards the top right corner. The keeper stood no chance as the ball flew into the net.

15 minutes later, Kerala doubled their lead through Harmanjot Khabra. Luna grabbed his 2nd assist of the match as he found Khabra following a corner. The first half ended with Kerala leading by 2 goals.

Odisha did attempt to script a comeback in the second period but failed to capitalize on their chances. Jonathas and Javi Hernandez both came close to finding the back of the net. However, they lacked that finishing touch to convert and reduce the deficit.

They managed to push Kerala back and registered more possession after the break. However, their attackers were unfortunately not exactly sharp on the day. The 2 goal cushion for Kerala from the first half was enough to help thema claim all 3 points.
