Odisha FC 0-4 Jamshedpur FC : The Game

It was a battle for second place as the two teams squared off in game 29 of the Indian Super League. The first 2 minutes saw Odisha come out guns blazing. However, the first goal came from the first corner of the match. A beautiful delivery from Greg Stewart was met by Peter Hartley at the far post who leapt over Vinit Rai to give JFC the lead.

Greg Stewart then capitalized on a poor back pass from OFC to put the ball past Kamaljit in the next minute. JFC were up by 2 goals in the first five minutes of the match.

Stewart bagged his second goal of the game with a beautiful free-kick. Kamaljit had no answer to the forward’s low powerful strike. He used the wall to deceive the keeper and found the bottom corner to make it 3-0(21′). Odisha continued to struggle with the pace of the game and could not get themselves into the match at all.

In the 35th minute, Greg Stewart bagged his first hat-trick of the season with a stunning run. Alexandre Lima found his teammate on the right flank. Stewart then took the ball inside the box and slotted it in at the far post. The second half saw Odisha bring on Javi Hernandez, their man-in-form this season. However, it was too late for OFC.

It was a bad day at the office for them. A half-spirited Odisha side did manage to shut down Stewart and company in the second period. But the match ended as 4-0 in favor of Jamshedpur.
