Odisha FC and FC Goa played out a 1-1 draw in the 40th match of the Indian Super League. It was a new dawn for FC Goa as Derrick Periera took the reins from Juan Ferrando. The latter made the move to ATK Mohun Bagan FC after having left his position as manager.

Meanwhile, Odisha FC came into the match on the back of 2 defeats. Kiko Ramirez’s men started the season strongly but fell to a thumping 4-0 loss to Jamshedpur FC. Both teams created several chances in the match but failed to grab all 3 points.

Ivan Gonzalez gave FC Goa the lead in the first period. However, Jonathas pulled things back into Odisha’s favor with a neat finish to make it 1-1.

Ivan Gonzalez’s goal scoring prowess as a defender helped him claim the Hero of the Match award. His tidy footwork and finishing helped FC Goa to a much-needed point. The center back won 5 duels and made 6 clearances. He took on the duty of central defender in a 3 man defense and stood firm throughout the game.

He made 11 recoveries and was on his toes the whole time. A strong showing from the center back and a fitting leader for FC Goa.
