Odisha FC, who finished at the bottom of the table, in the last ISL season is close to finalizing their head coach for the 2021-’22 campaign.
Garrido is an experienced campaigner and has worked at La Liga clubs Real Betis and Villareal.
He has also spent time at Belgian giants Club Brugge.
A large part of his coaching career has been spent in the middle east. His last assignment was with Liga 2 side CD Castellon.
Juan Carlos might help Odisha FC to perform better
Began his career as coach with Nuevas Dimensiones Juvenil, at the same time that he was assistant coach of José Luis Ramón Levante UD Alevín. Then he went to Don Bosco Alevín and a year later, to Gimnastico Juvenil. All this before taking over, in the early ’90s, at Puig CE.
After a season as a youth team coach, in which he achieved promotion, Juan Carlos was the first-team coach from 1993 to 1999. He led the team to promotion to the Third Division, a historic moment for the club.
He capped his successful career as coach of Villarreal B with promotion to the Second Division A in 2009.

He is one of the coaches of youth teams who have trained in all categories of Spanish football, with several promotions during his career. In February 2010, Juan Carlos Garrido became the first team coach of Villarreal CF after completing an amazing first half of the season with the second team in Second Division A.
In February 2019 he joined Al Ain FC of the United Arab Emirates intending to win the League title and contest the Asian Champions.
The goal of the Valencian coach is to achieve permanence in the Spanish silver category.
Such experienced coach will help Odisha FC perform better in the next season.
