Durand Cup 2021 would be kicking off from 5th September this year and would be ending by 3rd October. 16 teams would be taking part this year and would be included in four groups.

However, Five Indian Super League clubs and three I League clubs would be making the tournament much more competitive. Whereas two I League 2nd division clubs and six Armed Forces teams complete the number of teams taking part in this 130th edition of Asia’s oldest competition.

Highly anticipated Durand Cup 2021 to kickoff on September 5th with Mohammedan SC locking horns with Indian Air Force

Group A includes Mohammedan Sporting Club, FC Bengaluru United, CRPF and Indian Air Force football teams. Whereas Group B consists of the ISL duo of Jamshedpur FC and FC Goa, Sudeva Delhi FC and Army Green.

However, Miners and Gaurs face off against each other in an all-ISL clash on 17th September. Group C comprises Southern Derby rivals Bengaluru and Kerala Blasters, I League 2nd division side Delhi FC and the Indian Navy football team.

Finally, Group D includes defending Durand Cup and I-League champions Gokulam Kerala alongside Hyderabad FC, Assam Rifles and Army Red football team. Here’s the list of all the groups and fixtures :

Whereas, the Quarterfinals of Durand Cup would take place between 23rd September to 25th September. Semi finals would occur on 27th and 29th September and the final on 3rd October.

The matches would be scheduled across three venues in Kolkata such as Kalyani Stadium, VYBK Stadium and Mohun Bagan Stadium. I League 2nd division clubs such as Bengaluru United and Delhi FC have prepared well facing against the higher league teams. United brought in former I League golden boot winner Pedro Manzi.

Bengaluru FC however, would be looking to bounce back after their disappointing run in the AFC Cup this year.
