INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE

Player Profile:- Ishan Pandita, the new striking addition for the Yellow army

Kerala Blasters, an Indian Super League (ISL) team, announced the signing of Ishan Pandita on Thursday, securing the services of one of the most sought-after Indian forwards.

The 25-year-old attacker has finally made up his mind on where he will play in the future. And has agreed to a two-year contract with the Blasters.

Pandita has demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess for the Gaurs and his former club, Jamshedpur FC. Since breaking into the Indian football scene with FC Goa. The player, who was born in New Delhi. Will now try to repeat that feat for Ivan Vukomanovic’s team and maybe even enhance it.

Let’s look at what the Indian international could have to give Kerala Blasters FC in the forthcoming campaign as anticipation for this deal grows.

The attacker is renowned for playing between the centre backs and has a strong heading skill. Pandita may easily slot into the frontline with Dimitrios Diamantakos or perhaps play off of him because Vukomanovic is known for being adaptable with his system.

His presence might add a unique perspective to the group and even increase the number of goals scored by his squad. And now that their Australian attacker, Jaushua Sotirio, is out with a serious ankle injury, his introduction looks even more essential for the team.

Kerala Blasters FC has thrived under Vukomanovic in executing a smooth transition from defence to attack, demonstrating their proficiency in carrying out quick and aggressive assaults. Pandita, who is confident taking on defenders with his strength and speed, can give players like Luna and Diamantakos more room to play.

Target Achiever

Last season, Kerala Blasters FC lacked a second striker and was conspicuously devoid of an Indian striker. The Blasters managed to score 28 goals in the ISL previous season. With Greek attacker Diamantakos, who finished seventh in the scoring standings last year, scoring ten of those goals.

In the ISL past season, Ivan Kalyuzhnyi and Adrian Luna tied for the team’s second-highest goal scorers with four apiece, while Apostolos Giannou, the team’s other forward, could only muster two goals in 17 league games.

This was a significant issue for Kerala Blasters previous season, and Pandita’s recent addition may have provided some relief. His keen sense and skill as a goal scorer enable him to meet the challenge for Vukomanovic’s team.

A significant replacement

The Indian international played for Jamshedpur FC in the ISL for the last two seasons. Starting just eight games while making up to 26 substitute appearances. During his two years with the team, he played 1027 minutes in the league for the Men of Steel. And scored five goals. He came off the bench to score all three of his goals last season.
