PSG are edging out Tottenham in signing Skriniar

Skriniar is more likely to join Paris Saint-Germain than Tottenham as the French side has been pushing harder to edge out the London club.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims there have been negotiations between PSG and Inter Milan. Sadly for Spurs, they are way behind in the race to sign the 27-year-old. The Slovakian center-back was wanted by the North London club since last summer.

Inter Milan’s take on Skriniar

The Nerazzurri have always wanted to make serious money by selling this defender. It’s the same every year for them trying to sell talents and bring more talent for that money. City rivals AC Milan snatched the Serie A title away from them which affected Skriniar’s thoughts on the club.

Inter has slapped a £55 million price tag on the Slovakian in the transfer market. This is fair considering the stats the player has shown in the past few years. The player developed quite well under Antonio Conte and won the Scudetto last year. However, Skriniar now sees Paris be his next destination.

The likes of joining Spurs

Skriniar joining Tottenham isn’t actually ridiculous. Antonio Conte perfectly took control of the club and booked a ticket to the Champions League next year. In addition to that, former teammate Ivan Perisic moved to North London from Inter last month.

It is logical to assume Conte can pull another stint at the Tottenham defense with Skriniar in the playing XI. Considering the Premier League-winning coach knows how to use Skriniar from their Inter days, the move could be possible after all.

Next stop, Paris?

Skriniar’s arrival will be a big boost to PSG’s prospects of winning the Champions League. They need an international defender because Sergio Ramos is rarely starting games. With Marquinhos questioning the club’s UCL campaigns the back four look to be dry for PSG.

Presnel Kimpembe isn’t unhappy with the club’s Champions League runs lately. With Kylian Mbappe taking control over transfers and lack of silverware, the World Cup winner is likely to join Chelsea. This puts Skriniar in a demanding position for more wages as the French side are the ones who are in need.
