PSG fans furious with Kylian Mbappe in a draw against Strasbourg

Angel

PSG fans have accused Kylian Mbappe of being selfish in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The hosts took a surprise lead early into the game. However, the French champions didn’t require to wait long before the equalizer. Mauricio Pochettino’s side scored two quickfire goals to earn a comfortable 3-1 lead midway through the second half.

Just when the game appeared to be over, an own goal by Marco Verratti gave a lifeline to the Blue and white. Meanwhile, the injury-time strike by Anthony Caci has earned a much-needed point for the hosts in their quest for the Champions League next season.

The incident which enraged the PSG fans happened just before Strasbourg’s equalizer. Kylian Mbappe found himself in a one-on-one situation and Lionel Messi was just beside the Frenchman who would have had a tap in had the 23-years-old passed the ball to the seven times Ballon D’or winner.

However, Mbappe tried to score by himself in search of a hat-trick, having already scored twice in the game. But, his shot went wide off the mark. This goal would have sealed the game in favor of the visitors.

Meanwhile, following this incident, the PSG fans expressed their frustration towards the 23-years-old forward and said he should have passed the ball to Messi.

This doesn’t affect PSG by any means as they have already regained the Ligue 1 title this term, having missed out last campaign to LOSC Lille. However, the Parisiens’ poor form against the top sides away from home in the league continues.

They haven’t been able to win a single away game against the current top eight sides. This is a concerning statistic for the PSG boss.

Will Kylian Mbappe decide to extend his contract at PSG?

Kylian Mbappe’s current contract with PSG will expire at the end of this season. And the Frenchman’s future is the point of concern for the Ligue 1 giants.

Despite having two other superstars in the squad, Neymar and Messi, the 23-years-old has established himself as the talisman of the Qatari-owned club over the past few campaigns. So, losing out the youngster for free will be a huge blow for the Ligue 1 champions.
