PSG are reportedly eager to sack their current boss Mauricio Pochettino following the end of this season as per the report in French outlet Le Parisien(via Get football news France).
The Argentine boss joined the Ligue 1 outfit after the club’s hierarchy decided to dismiss Thomas Tuchel at the start of last year. However, the appointment hasn’t been a great success for the club.
Pochettino failed to win the league title last term and lost out to LOSC Lille. Only managed to win the Coupe de France and guided his side to the Champions League semi-final, eventually losing out to Manchester City.
Meanwhile, although the Argentine boss has managed to win the league title this term, they have failed to go beyond the round of 16 stage of the Champions League which is their primary objective to be a successful campaign.
Therefore, as per the recent reports in France. PSG is ready to sack Mauricio Pochettino at the end of this season. Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is reportedly among the names who could succeed the Argentine at Parc des Princes. However, the club’s hierarchy are willing to appoint Zinedine Zidane as the new manager next season.
Will PSG sack Mauricio Pochettino following the conclusion of this campaign?
Mauricio Pochettino was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United when the Red Devils sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November last year. The former Spurs boss was on the list to become the new permanent manager along with Erik ten Hag.
However, the United hierarchy have decided to appoint the Dutchman as the new manager. So, the future of Pochettino will be uncertain if PSG decide to dismiss the Argentine at the end of this season.
Meanwhile, if Conte joins PSG for next season then Pochettino could be an option for the Lillywhites. They were linked with their former boss last summer. However, in the end, the club’s hierarchy appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as the new manager. But, this marriage didn’t last long as they sacked the Portuguese just after a few months in charge.
