Rahul began his journey into football through Gokulam Kerala FC. He came up the ranks in the academy to steadily make him progress in to the reserves. His talent deserved a bigger stage and thus he made his debut into the first team. In the 2019/20 season, he made 2 appearances for the team in the I-League.

He made his debut in a 2-1 loss to Mohun Bagan. His second appearance was more fruitful as he assisted Marcus Joseph’s goal against East Bengal where they drew 1-1. The Vizag based I-League side are a newbie when compared to the other I-League sides. Founded in 2015, the club became professional in 2018 and received it’s accreditation from AIFF in 2019. The club’s U-13, U-15 and U-18 teams play in their respective league across the nation.

Prior to the 2021/22 season, the AIFF invited a few clubs to join the top-tier league directly. While other teams go through rounds of qualification, Sreenidhi Deccan will be a part of the I-League without playing a game against their future opponents. The club has taken the opportunity very seriously and have made a good number of interesting signing, like that of Rahul KP.

Rahul KP is a left winger by trade and will look to get the minutes he did not receive at Gokulam. He has been a part of a title winning squad and will be keen to add that extra experience to boost the team’s fortunes.
