Timo Werner has been a lost case at Chelsea. The German was signed to be the starting striker for the blues but so far has been disappointing. Thomas Tuchel has also grown increasingly frustrated about Werner’s situation at the club. The German attacker is speculated to make a long-awaited move to Leipzig where he was at his best. At Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel has already made his mind about replacing Werner. The club tried it with Lukaku but that move failed miserably.
Leipzig are now believed to be leading the race for 26-year-old Werner. The German Striker scored 93 goals for them during his stint at the club. But a move like this will not be easy to pull off. Werner is also approached by a lot of other clubs also. Chelsea also are not willing to sell him permanently. Rather, they will be happy to negotiate a loan move with no buy-out clause.
Juventus have reportedly joined the race to get Werner. The Bianconeri are set to lose Alvaro Morata with his loan spell ending. The Spaniard will be back at Atletico this summer. Juventus have identified Depay and Werner as the possible options for the striker position this summer. Landing Werner will be a little chaotic, given that Leipzig are hands down the frontrunners in securing him.
Chelsea lost out to big superstars this summer
Chelsea have had a troubled transfer window so far. The Blues have lost out to some big players this summer. Rudiger, Christensen, and lukaku have all left the club. All 3 were a vital part of the Chelsea squad last season. Tuchel has since then signed Sterling, Koulibaly, and Cucurella to bolster their squad. But the Blues are not done yet.
Tuchel has said that they need major reinforcements if they want to compete for all titles. Chelsea are also targeting Wesley Fofana of Leceister City but Leceister have been adamant about keeping him. The Former European Champions will be looking to challenge for the premier league title. The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool look far better than the Chelsea side. Tuchel will be hoping that his side will be good enough to make life difficult for other European Heavyweights.
