Chelsea is in danger of losing Antonio Rudiger for free next summer and, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are growing confident in luring the German defender away from Stamford Bridge as per the report in ESPN

The 28-year-old joined the west London club back in 2017 from Italian giants AS Roma. However, the defender hasn’t had a great time since making the move to the Premier League.

He found it difficult to play regular first-team football under former manager Frank Lampard. But following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, the German international has become an integral part of the Blues’ system.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are in line to sign Rudiger for free:

According to the report, the 28-year-old is in the final year of his current contract and negotiation regarding an extension is yet to be agreed upon between the two parties. The English club is willing to keep hold of their star man and the defender is also open to staying at Stamford Bridge. However, the negotiation has been stalled between the club and the player.

Meanwhile, the other European clubs are closely monitoring the situation. And they want to sign the Germany international if both parties fail to reach an agreement. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all waiting on the fence. They are willing to meet the defender’s demand, given they will be able to sign Rudiger without a transfer fee.

So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the German defender. Losing the 28-year-old for free will be a big blow for the Premier League club. However, it will be a great acquisition for whoever will manage to sign him up if Chelsea and the player fail to reach an agreement.
