Real Madrid Eyes Liverpool Star in Transfer Window

Trent Arnold - Liverpool

Reports suggest that Real Madrid wants to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool in the summer transfer window. Liverpool is going through some changes this summer, with their manager Jurgen Klopp saying he’ll take a break from football after this season.

Many reports suggest that Feyenoord’s manager Arne Slot will take over from Klopp at Liverpool. Additionally, the contracts of Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah will end next year, and there are rumors that one or two of them might leave this summer.

Liverpool and Real Madrid: Changes and Rumors

Changes are happening at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium, with Michael Edwards coming back as the head of football and Richard Hughes from Bournemouth taking on the role of sporting director.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is thinking about trying to sign Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold for a lower price. They see him as a possible replacement for Dani Caravajal. They might offer around €60 million, hoping Alexander-Arnold might want to play alongside Jude Bellingham, another English player.

This news follows a previous report that Real Madrid wants to sign Kylian Mbappe and might use Alexander-Arnold as part of the deal in 2025.

Van Dijk’s Borussia Dortmund Transfer Rumors Debunked by Expert

Van Dijk was rumored to be joining Borussia Dortmund, but a transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, says those rumors aren’t accurate.

“There have been reports in Germany in the last few days about Virgil van Dijk possibly going to Borussia Dortmund, but from what I’m hearing from sources this is not true.”

“My understanding is that Dortmund are focusing on different names – they will try to keep Jadon Sancho and Ian Maatsen, but Van Dijk links are not something real or concrete at this point. Contacts are not taking place, it’s not happening.”

“Incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot will have a direct conversation with Van Dijk, and he will try to keep the experienced Dutch defender at the club as a part of his project. Slot would love to keep Van Dijk at the club, so the conversation between them is going to be important.” Fabrizio Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column
