Real Madrid wants Reece James in a swap deal

In a new development, Real Madrid is now looking to bring in Reece James as a part of a swap deal from Chelsea. The Premier League side has been linked with Eden Hazard and Madrid wants to capitalise on the situation.

Reports emerged earlier this week that Chelsea is looking to bring Eden Hazard back to London. However, Real Madrid is now demanding that Reece James be included in any deal for the Belgian. This is according to news outlet El Nacional.

Eden Hazard has had a very difficult time in Real Madrid with injuries reducing his impact. Reece James on the other hand is a key part of the Chelsea setup and manager Thomas Tuchel will not be ready to part way with him.

CHELSEA UNLIKELY TO SELL REECE JAMES TO REAL MADRID

At just 21, Reece James is one of the brightest stars from Chelsea academy to break into the main team. He already has 90 appearances for the club across all competitions. With captain Cesar Azpilicueta getting older, James becomes even more important as the only other right-back in the squad.

Reece James is an excellent modern-day right-back. He likes to help his team in attack, making run in the wings and delivering excellent crosses for his teammates. A good passer of the ball, he mixes it will excellent pace and strength. His defensive numbers are also strong and make him effective at both ends.

Real Madrid is going through a difficult time and the right-back position is one of the areas that need strengthening. Currently, the only traditional right-back in the team is Daniel Carvajal. However, the Spaniard has been having a very bad time due to injury. This has left the club with using the likes of Lucas Vazquez in the position.

With Chelsea interested in signing Hazard, it is an excellent chance for Real Madrid to sign someone like Reece James. His age and abilities make him a good long term option for Los Blancos on the right side of their defence.

Chelsea is not interested in letting go of the English star as it will leave them vulnerable in the right-back position. Money has not been an issue for the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Thus it is going to be very unlikely for a swap deal including Reece James to happen, especially with the 21-year-old having a contract till 2025.
