Renato Sanches has been linked with a transfer away from Lille this summer amid links with AC Milan and PSG. The Portuguese midfielder is close to completing a move to Paris Saint-Germain as reported by multiple reputed sources. The player is subject to offers from Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan earlier this summer.
However, the Portuguese international prefers a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain than to AC Milan. A reunion with the manager, Christophe Galtier, and Director, Luis Campos has tempted the player ahead of a move to Milan.
Fabrizio Romano, a reputed football transfers journalist has reported that the player has agreed on a move to Paris Saint-Germain and will complete the transfer in the coming days. The news comes as a roadblock for AC Milan in their pursuit to replace Franck Kessie at the club.
AC Milan identified Renato Sanches as the replacement for Franck Kessie
Franck Kessie has signed for Barcelona after his contract with AC Milan expired earlier this summer. The midfielder was an important part of the squad in Milan. The Ivorian made a substantial contribution towards the league triumph last season.
However, his departure to Barcelona has exposed a hole in the midfield. AC Milan needs to sign a similar box-to-box midfielder to plug that gap. The club has identified Renato Sanches as the successor to the Ivorian international.
AC Milan have struggled to sign top targets this summer despite winning the Serie A last season and qualifying for UEFA Champions League. It is a big concern for the club hierarchy as the squad has not substantially improved from last season.
Nonetheless, the Rossoneri will look to strengthen further in the upcoming weeks and hope to defend their crown. However, it is crucial that they find a solution for the midfield gap left by Franck Kessie if they are to challenge for major trophies!!
