Rodrygo Goes may Replace Federico Valverde on right wing

Up to six Real Madrid

Real Madrid won in dramatic manner on Wednesday night, thrashing rivals Barcelona 4-0, owing to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema and a goal from Vinicius Junior. The inclusion of Rodrygo Goes was also crucial to their triumph.

Rodrygo has appeared in 24 games for the European Champions this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He has made nine major chances and averages 1.5 critical passes per game.

Rodrygo may serve as right winger permanently

Carlo Ancelotti’s two untouchable players in the final third at Real Madrid are Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema. The two has formed a devastating attacking combination for Real Madrid, as evidenced by the latest El Clasico.

According to MARCA, Real Madrid’s coaching staff is gradually developing a same attitude about Rodrygo Goes. Given his ability to make an impact when called upon. The management believes it is difficult to keep the Brazilian on the bench.

The youthful prodigy does not currently have a defined position on the field, so this development leaves room for speculation. He works best as a number 10 because of his deft movements and aggressive presence in the box. But in Ancelotti’s system, there is no such role behind the striker. On the right wing, where Rodrygo has excelled in the past, that is the only opportunity for him.
He established himself against Real Valladolid on April 2 by scoring one goal and assisting on two more. In place of Federico Valverde, Rodrygo is anticipated to start more often on the right wing due to the club’s recognition of his talent. However, the role of the young player may drastically alter in the upcoming campaign, particularly if Real Madrid’s manager changes.

The 22-year-old Brazilian was decisive for El Classico victory

The 22-year-old started Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey match against Barcelona, completing all of his attempted dribbles. The Brazilian started on the right side of a front three, with Fede Valverde falling into midfield instead. Nonetheless, Rodrygo’s participation was the difference that ended their three-game losing streak to Barcelona.
In the previous El Clasico, all of Real Madrid’s attacks were directed through the left side in order to utilise Vinicius. Valverde tends to operate further inside than Rodrygo, while having the option to go off the wing inside.

Rodrygo going into more sensible positions further forward and starting from the wide right position stretched the Barcelona defensive out, giving Benzema, Vinicius, and Modric more space to work with.
Ancelotti may have called it a little change, but it made a significant difference in their approach against Barcelona. Rodrygo’s performance in El Clasico will be his main argument as he seeks additional starts at the crucial point of the season.
