Romelu Lukaku will sit down with Chelsea to talk about his future on Monday

Romelu Lukaku will sit down with Chelsea to talk about his future at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Clouds of uncertainty are growing over the Belgian’s future at the club after his comments earlier this week. He opened up about his situation at Chelsea and said that he is “Unhappy” with his environment at Chelsea. His other comments are an indication that he is looking forward to joining his previous club.

Romelu Lukaku left Inter Milan last summer after successful two years at the San Siro. He won the Serie A and became a key figure for the Nerazzurri’s until Chelsea lured him away. His return to Stamford Bridge was a huge Addition to the sensational Chelsea Squad that won the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League. The 28-year-old was productive during his stint at Milan where he was alongside Argentinian Lautaro Martinez.

However, he couldn’t adapt to Thomas Tuchel’s ways and Lukaku is unofficially hoping to find a way out of Chelsea. Lukaku has been occasionally left on the bench this season even when fit and available. His situation will be clear in the forthcoming weeks now that he can have a direct conversation with Tuchel. The 28-year-old was also not part of the entire Chelsea matchday squad for their clash against Liverpool on Sunday. The Blues came from two goals down to clinch a 2-2 draw in an enthralling affair in west London.

Thomas Tuchel Confirms Romelu Lukaku Chelsea Meeting to Take Place on Monday

Tuchel has suggested that if the meeting goes well on Monday, Lukaku will be restored to the starting XI. Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel both need him at the end of the day. The Belgian Forward is still pretty much on the German’s plans and he will hope to get him back to the starting line-up in an attempt to win as many trophies as they can.

They dropped points at the weekend despite coming from 2-0 down. Chelsea is now 10 points behind Premier League leaders in Manchester City. They will face a big month coming up, too, as they face Tottenham Hotspur three times, once in the Premier League and twice in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, while also taking on City later this month and Chesterfield Town in the FA Cup.

“There is a meeting on Monday. That’s why we took the decision to delay the decision. We needed some time. I heard of the story on Friday. I thought we could handle it.”

Thomas Tuchel said when Lukaku was dropped

“It’s not the first time something like this has happened in my career. I don’t feel personally attacked or disappointed, but the thing got too big on a Saturday. It was too much noise, for that we protected the preparation we needed from the squad to have quiet, full focus because this is a huge game on a top level.”

he added

“From there, we will take the decision and if the decision is he is good to go on Wednesday, this is the decision. If it’s not, it’s not. I can’t tell you right now because we need to talk and understand the situation better. From there we go.”

Meanwhile, Lukaku’s record has not been that brilliant for Chelsea but he can change games due to his goal-scoring talent. He is capable of finding the back of the net whenever he gets the chance. One such example would be Lukaku coming off the bench to score and lay on an assist against Aston Villa in just 45 minutes of action.
