Ronaldo looks average when compared to player nicknamed ‘the Executioner’

Keylor Navas

Ronaldo has been excellent for Al Nassr ever since joining them from Manchester United a year ago. Ronaldo joined the Saudi outfit at the start of the year and has since racked up 40 goals for them as well as 10 goals for Portugal throughout 2023.

However, this output is nowhere near what Abderrazak Hamdallah managed in 2019 for Al Nassr. Nicknamed the Executioner, Hamdallah scored 57 goal for Al Nassr in 2019, 17 more than what Ronaldo has managed in 2023. These stats definitely make Ronaldo look average.

Hamdalla was unstoppable in 2019

Ronaldo seems to be goal-machine for Al Nassr this season. It almost sounds unreal that someone has managed to score a lot more than he did this year. In 2019, Abderrazak Hamdallah wreaked havoc on opposition defences virtually every time he took to the pitch. He finished 2019 with more strikes than anyone else on the planet. But, still, he was only picked for his national team Morocco on just one occasion throughout the entire year.

Even such kind of output, wasn’t able to earn him a move to Europe. That and the fact that Hamdallah has only managed 6 goals in 24 appearances for Morocco illustrates the difference in standard between the Saudi Pro League and the European leagues Ronaldo has played in in the past.

Ronaldo has no intention of leaving Al Nassr

Even though the Saudi Pro League is nowhere near the level Ronaldo is used to playing at, but at 38 years of age, he has made it clear that he’ll be staying at Al Nassr.

“I am happy here. I want to continue here, I will continue here,” the Portuguese said in the summer as he spoke about his Al-Nassr future. “And in my opinion if they continue to do the work that they want to do here, for the next five years, I think the Saudi league can be a top five league in the world.”
