Sadio Mane is enjoying life at Bayern Munich. The Senegalese international made the switch from Liverpool to Bayern this summer. Bayern sees Mane as their Lewandowski replacement after the Polish striker moved to Barcelona. Mane has had a brilliant start to his life at Bayern. The 30-year-old is one of the first names in the lineup for Nagelsmann and his staff. Mane’s work rate and humble attitude really make him an ideal player for Bayern. In a recent interview, he revealed how intense Bayern’s training is and also reflected on their season so far.
Mane played under Jurgen Klopp for years and is very familiar with intense training. During Bayern’s training, the former Liverpool man said:
“Just unbelievable, but it’s not surprise for me. The way we train I think is high, high, high level…the intensity we put in the training, everything we do with intensity, I think it pays off…I think we have a very very good coach, the ideas he has is very incredible, so it’s very difficult for the other teams to cope with us.”
Bayern faces a tough test against Borussia Monchengladbach this weekend. Mane also talked about how Gladbach will be a tough opponent.
“Of course I know a little bit about them. They are a very good team. Last years, they’ve been playing Champions League. I know how difficult it is to play against them, but we’re going to start the game like we did today. Even though we know it’s a different opponent — but we are Bayern, so hopefully we’re gonna do our best to win the game and make our fans proud.”
Will Liverpool feel the absence of Sadio Mane?
Sadio Mane was a vital part of the Liverpool team under Jurgen Klopp. The Senegalese international was one of the top scorers in the squad along with Salah. He carried Liverpool to the UCL final last season, only to lose out to Real Madrid. He is firing goals for Bayern just like he did for Liverpool. But the same cannot be said about Liverpool.
The Reds have had a tough start to their season. They have won just one out of 3 games and also lost too Manchester United at Old Trafford. Besides that, the squad is hit with Injuries to important players. Darvin Nunez, Joel Matip, and Thiago are all on the sidelines and the team feels their absence. Liverpool never gave Mane the recognition he deserved which is why he left. They may just end up not very well without Mane.
