SAFF Championship Schedule announced , India Ready for 8th Silverware

SAFF Championship Schedule announced and India to play Bangaladesh in the opener. Certainly the fixtures of the Competition also announced. Most importantly the tournament will commence from October 1-13 in Maldives.

Certainly Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Host Maldives will play against India. In addition Nepal will face Maldives at the Tournament opener at National Football Stadium, Male City.

In addition all the Matches will commence at National Football Stadium, Male. To Clarify India will play Bangaladesh at their opener on October 3. Further the Blue Tigers will play against Srilanka on October 6. Then they will face Nepal at October 8 and Maldives at October 11.

Most Importantly the finals will be played by the top two sides in the group stage. Certainly while looking the Indian Side they are the favourites to finish at the top.

Certainly as the most successful team in SAFF Indian will look to claim it’s 8th Title this year. Further the Igor Stimac’s side is currently in camp and soon they will travel Nepal for two friendlies.

  • October 1, 2021 – 4:30 pm – Nepal vs Maldives
  • October 1, 2021 – 9:30 pm – Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh
  • October 3, 2021 – 4:30 pm – Bangladesh vs India
  • October 3, 2021 – 9:30 pm – Sri Lanka vs Nepal
  • October 6, 2021 – 4:30 pm – India vs Sri Lanka
  • October 6, 2021 – 9:30 pm – Maldives vs Bangladesh
  • October 8, 2021 – 4:30 pm – Maldives vs Sri Lanka
  • October 8, 2021 – 9:30 pm – Nepal vs India
  • October 11, 2021 – 4:30 pm – Bangladesh vs Nepal
  • October 11, 2021 – 4:30 pm – India vs Maldives
  • October 13, 2021 – 8:30 pm – Final

However Bhutan decides to withdraw from the tournament due to Covid Concerns. On the other hand Pakistan is left out because of the ban imposed by FIFA.

On the same time Maldives will Host the AFC Cup’s Group D matches. And they previous won the Silverware in 2008 when they co-hosted the tournament with Srilanka.
