Salah creates record for Liverpool against Atletico Madrid

Mohamed Salah created yet another record for Liverpool on Tuesday night after scoring twice against Atletico Madrid in UEFA Champions League. 

The 29-year-old gave an early lead to Jurgen Klopp’s side after producing a magical left-footed shot from just outside the box. The Reds took no time before doubling the margin. As Naby Keita’s brilliant volley went straight into the back of the net beyond the outstretched hand of Jan Oblak. 

However, the Premier League giants’ joy didn’t last long. Antoine Griezmann scored two quickfire goals to bring his side back in the contest before the interval. But, the red card of the former Barcelona man completely changed the game. Liverpool took full advantage of the extra man and eventually found the much-needed goal from the penalty spot. 

Having scored twice in this match. Salah has now become the first player to score in nine consecutive games for Liverpool. The Egyptian is enjoying the form of his life so far this season. Scoring 12 goals and notched up four assists in 11 appearances in all competitions.

Following a disappointing campaign last time around due to multiple injury concerns in the squad. The Reds are showing promises to win big prizes this season as they are almost unplayable at the moment. 

After a huge win against the Rojiblancos, Liverpool has now won all three games in the Champions League and are sitting at the top of the group with nine points. On the other hand, the Anfield side is currently placed second in the Premier League just a point behind the leader Chelsea. The Reds will be looking to keep their winning run going when they travel to Old Trafford to encounter Manchester United on Sunday evening.
