Weekly Transfer Roundup: Goa signs the best 5 for ISL

Transfer gossips are always intersting to us. We all know that Indian Super League is the most viewed football league in India till now. And just like every year, this year too, the teams have extended contracts with some of their own players. Further we have seen the transfer of players within the ISL teams. They have been signings of foreign players as well as Indian players. Let’s give you some more information about it.

Transfer News

1. Spanish head coach Carles Cuadrat has signed for East Bengal FC

Carles Cuadrat, the 54-year-old is flexible in his system and has backup plans. East Bengal has hired former Indian Super League winner Carles Cuadrat as its new Head Coach on a two-year contract.

2. Jessel Carneiro signed a two year contract with Bengaluru FC

Jessel, who was born in Goa, progressed through the ranks and played for Dempo S.C. in two consecutive periods, separated by a season on loan with Pune F.C. The 32-year-old led the Goan football team to the Santosh Trophy semi-finals in 2018-19.

Jessel joined Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League after the team paid Dempo a transfer fee for his services. In the 2019 season, he made his ISL debut and rapidly established himself as a regular in the starting lineup. Due to injuries, the former Kerala Blasters team captain did not play in the present Hero Super Cup.

3. Imran Khan set to join Jamshedpur FC

NorthEast United to NEROCA FC Imran Khan’s career has been one to follow. The winger has also played for prestigious clubs like as FC Goa, Mohun Bagan, and Gokulam Kerala. He was a member of Mohun Bagan’s I-League winning side, however when his loan with the Mariners expired, he returned to FC Goa in January 2020.

4. Odisha FC signed indian defender Laldinliana Renthlei from Jamshedpur FC

Laldinliana Renthlei began his career at Chhinga Veng in the Mizoram Premier League. In 2017, Laldinliana also represented Mizoram in the Santosh Trophy. After finishing second with the Marina Machans, he had joined Jamshedpur FC and quickly established himself as a fixture in their backline, appearing in 15 matches for them in 2020-21.

Let’s look at some more transfers which took place this week within the ISL teams.

5. Fc Goa is all set to build a strong team

Sandesh Jhingan

Sandesh Jhingan is an Indian centre-back who plays for the Indian national team and Bengaluru FC. He made his Hero ISL debut with Kerala Blasters FC in 2014 and was named Emerging Player of the League. Jhingan spent five seasons with KBFC before joining ATK Mohun Bagan. He joined Croatian top-tier club HNK Sibenik, but returned to ATKMB after an injury-plagued spell. Jhingan then rejoined Bengaluru FC.

Boris Singh

A graduate of the AIFF Elite Academy, Boris Singh rose to fame after being selected for India’s squad for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He then represented Indian Arrows for a significant period. Thereafter he joined ATK FC’s developmental team in 2018, however, he was sent back to Indian Arrows on loan to gain more experience. He began his Hero ISL journey with ATK Mohun Bagan in 2020-21 but after no opportunities there, he had joined Jamshedpur FC during the January transfer window. 

Udanta Singh

Udanta Singh joined the Tata Football Academy in 2010 and learnt the tricks of the trade there. He was then roped in by Bengaluru FC in 2014 and made his Hero ISL debut while on loan at Mumbai City FC during Hero ISL 2016. With Bengaluru FC, he collected the ‘Winning Pass of the League Award’ in Hero ISL 2017-18. 

Raynier Fernandes

Raynier Fernandes began his football career with Air India before going on to represent Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy. His breakthrough season came in 2017-18 with Mohun Bagan AC. Raynier made his Hero ISL debut with Mumbai City FC in the 2018-19 campaign and was the breakout star for the Islanders, making 17 appearances in midfield. 

Dipesh Chauhan (promoted from bfc reserves)

Dipesh Chauhan has been a member of Bengaluru FC’s academy since he was a child. After graduating to the first team ahead of the 2020-21 Hero ISL season, will be attempting to break into Bengaluru FC’s first squad.

6. East Bengal adds power boosters to their team

Nandhakumar Sekar (Odisha FC) and Edwin Vanspaul (Chennaiyin FC) have completed their moves to East Bengal. Odisha were keen on Nandha to continue but the winger wanted a fresh challenge. Both signed their contracts.

7. Simon Grayson is set to extend his stay here for one more season

Camille Rodriguez , has joined Lord’s FA Kochi

Rodriguez last played for Spanish club Mislata FC and is one of the finest players for her national team. She has made 42 appearances for the Philippines national team since her professional debut in 2011, when she was only 17 years old!
