AC Milan and Napoli have been given the chance to sign Chelsea Centre-back Malang Sarr. The Blues have reportedly made an offer to the Serie A clubs to sign the Frenchman next year. Chelsea is looking to offload some players during the January transfer window to go make way for major summer signings. Thomas Tuchel’s side will hope to bring some reinforcements for certain positions next year.

Antonio Rudiger, Cezar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva are all out of contract next year. Meanwhile, Rudiger could be on his way to join a new club in June 2022. The situation for the other three defenders is still unclear. Malang Sarr was an option for Chelsea this season, but the Frenchman could not impress Tuchel and he is now on the Blues’ departure list.

Malang Sarr joined the Blues as a free agent in August 2020. However, the 22-year-old has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge this season with only four appearances across all competitions. According to CalcioNapoli24, Chelsea is willing to let Sarr leave in January on loan to get more exposure. The Blues want him to get more exposure as a part of first-team football and his agent has made contacts with both Milan and Napoli to address his availability.

Malang Sarr could leave Chelsea on loan in January as he needs more “top-level experience”

Sarr came to Chelsea in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer after leaving Nice. However, he went to Porto on Loan for the 2020/21 campaign with the Blues’ squad stacked with defensive options. The 22-year-old only made 14 starts for Porto last season most of which came during the first half of the season. Malang Sarr ended his time in Portugal filling in at Centre-back for the club’s B side in the second tier.

According to reports, Napoli has been keeping tabs on the Frenchman for quite some time now. He was once a potential replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly when the Centre-back was in the news with an exit. Milan, on the other hand, has a history of negotiating transfers with Chelsea in the past. AC Milan currently has former Blues trio Fikayo Tomori, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Olivier Giroud in their Squad.

Malang Sarr has also been linked with Inter Milan in the past few weeks. He has just over three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge and is believed to be valued by Chelsea at around €15m (£12.7m).
