AIFF gave Anwar Ali permission to make a return to Professional football

Anwar Ali is coming back to the pitch to play football. He could not play due to a problem related to his heart barring him from playing the sport. It is been two whole years since he was wearing the shirt of a professional team. He did represent the Indian U-17 team in the U-17 World Cup hosted in India.

For the about to be twenty years old this decision from the AIFF stands out as a very important one for his confidence. Representing the U-17 Indian side he did gain confidence and was a rising star of the sport. Playing for Indian Arrows in the I league and was often seen in the national team camp under then-boss Igor Stimac. Later signing a contract to represent Mumbai City in the Indian Super League.

His career was blooming when a problem arose. Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy. After carrying out various tests the official statement said that he will be at risk if he would play again. Although this statement comes from two sets of doctors. Whereas another expert contradicted the two sets of doctors. Following which he decided to take the AIFF to the Delhi High Court. Also, asking to be at the Medical Committees proceedings till the issue ends.

In the court, providing the testimony from Professor Sanjay Sharma who is also a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. The testimony strengthened his case. Many athletes earlier did come to the court for the same reason in almost all the cases the athletes did not get to continue playing. According to the new guideline released on 29 August 2020, the officials are to be a bit lenient. Following it the Delhi High Court gives him permission in November last year and waiting for clearance from the AIFF.

With the decision of the Medical Committee hanging so was the career of Anwar. He could be seen playing in some amateur matches. Where ever he would go to play an Ambulance with an Automated External Defibrillator to help him in case of an emergency. AIFF gave clearance to Anwar after he provided the Medical Committee with a testimony. The testimony comes from Professor Sanjay Sharma but he will be responsible for his actions in the future is a term he is ready to agree with.
