Barcelona are prepared to sell the loanee for a reduced sum

Barcelona, one of the biggest and most successful football clubs in the world, is reportedly ready to sell one of its loanee players at a discounted price of around €12 million. The player in question is Jean-Clair Todibo, a French central defender who is currently on loan at Nice.

Todibo was signed by Barcelona from French club Toulouse in January 2019 for a reported fee of €1 million. However, the 21-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the Barcelona first team and has been loaned out to Schalke, Benfica, and now Nice. His performances at Nice have somewhat mixed, with some impressive displays mixed in with some errors.

Barcelona’s decision to sell Todibo at a discounted price is likely due to financial concerns. The club is in a difficult financial position due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with revenue streams significantly reduced. Selling Todibo at a discount would enable Barcelona to raise some much-needed funds while also offloading a player who is surplus to requirements.
