Barcelona are ready to offload up to eight players this summer

Barcelona

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing a big summer clearout, with up to eight players who have been told to leave the club. As per the report in Spanish outlet Sport.

The Blaugrana are eager to offload some of the stars who have failed to live up to the expectations at Camp Nou. The Catalan giants are currently in financial difficulties. And they will find some respite in that field after wiping the fringe players out of the wage bill.

Neto, Samuel Umtiti, and Clement Lenglet are the defensive options who are not in Xavi Hernandez’s plan. And they have been told to find their future away from Camp Nou.

Riqui Puig and Oscar Mingueza are also set to leave the club this summer. While Martin Braithwaite, Adama Traore, and Luuk de Jong are also informed that they will not be in Xavi’s plan for the new Barcelona dawn.

Traore is currently on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers. And the Catalan giants have an option to sign him up for around €30 million. But, it is unlikely that the Blaugrana will invest that much in him. Meanwhile, Leeds United star Raphinha is the priority option for Xavi for the flanks. But, they are struggling to match the Peacocks’ asking price.

De Jong is also currently on loan from Sevilla. And he will return to his parent club at the end of this month. Braithwaite is reportedly not willing to move away from Camp Nou. However, with the World Cup being on the horizon. The Denmark international might want to play regular first-team football before the big event.

Can Barcelona offload all of these possible eight players?

Apart from the aforementioned players. The Blaugrana are also willing to listen to offers for Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, and Sergino Dest. Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele’s contract will expire at the end of this month. And he hasn’t signed a renewal yet.

So, Barcelona are in a complicated situation at the moment. Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in signing De Jong this summer. And they are also willing to match Blaugrana’s asking price. The Catalan giants will have a busy summer ahead.
