Barcelona Boss Xavi plans to invite Piqué to celebrate La Liga win

With Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings, Xavi’s team is on track to win the league for the first time in four years. The Catalan giants only need two points in their next five games to win Spain’s championship. On Monday, when they play host to their local rivals Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. Barca will have their first opportunity to win the championship. After a spectacular year for the Camp Nou club, securing the victory inside the stadium of their opponents will be the cherry on top.

Barcelona might invite Piqué to celebrate laliga title win

When Barcelona wins the league title, Gerard Pique will be invited back to join celebrations, according to Spanish reporter Toni Juanmarti. According to a tweet he made, “Barça plans to invite Piqué ahead of the celebrations that will take place if they end up winning the League”. Pique participated in six games for Xavi’s team in the 22/23 season. However Piqué unexpectedly declared his immediate retirement from the game in November. The former World Cup champion of Spain at the time remarked:

“Football has given me everything. Barcelona has given me everything. You, culers (Barcelona fans), have given me everything. And now that [this] kid’s dreams have come true, I want to tell you that I’ve decided that now is the time to bring this journey to its end.”

Renowned midfielder Sergio Busquets will depart the team at the end of the current campaign, it was announced this week. In addition Busquets, who spent 18 years as a player with Barcelona, said:

“It has not been an easy decision, but I believe that the time has come. It has been an adventure to remember.”

“I’ve always wanted to play in this uniform and at this venue. My dreams have been exceeded by reality. For so many years, it has been a privilege, a dream, a source of pride, and everything to defend and represent this emblem. But everything has a beginning and an end. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed, from the very beginning to the very end.”
