Barcelona trying to grab a deal for signing Giovanni Lo Celso

According to the latest Mundo Deportivo report, the Blaugrana head coach feels the right profile for him right now is an interior or central midfielde. He thinks of a star with an understanding and visionary abilities to build a strong connection with forwards. He must have the ability to execute line-breaking vertical passes, especially towards Barcelona talisman Robert Lewandowski. According to the source, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso is a player that both Barcelona and the coach value highly in terms of playmaking.

Having displayed his skills for Real Betis, the Argentine attacking midfielder went on to enjoy his time in England. Spurs purchased him from Betis for a fee in the range of €40 million, which wasn’t too much. However he moved out on a two-year loan to Villarreal before finally returning for the upcoming season. The Argentinian midfielder has spent the last 18 months on loan at Villarreal. He made 51 appearances in all competitions and contributing three goals and four assists. Unfortunately, his second season with the Yellow Submarine was cut short due to injury. Still the playmaker recovered near the conclusion of the season to help his team finish fifth in La Liga. Barcelona is considering if a prospective move to Barcelona for the Argentine would be realistic. They are reviewing how negotiations with Spurs over his transfer might cost or potential loan arrangement may proceed.

It has to be observed how big of an impact and how precisely the appointment of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou would have on the continuation of the Argentine Lo Celso at the English club, given that he is still legally bound to them until 2025.
