Barcelona could sell their La Masia graduate despite his unwillingness

Youngster

Ansu Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, spoke with the youngster’s family and Barcelona president Joan Laporta earlier this week to discuss his future. This season, the 20-year-old wonderkid has seen his market value decline at Spotify Camp Nou. Fati has gone from being the face of the new-look Barca after the Lionel Messi era to becoming a benchwarmer under Xavi Hernandez this season.

Ansu Fati unwilling to leave Barcelona this summer

Ansu Fati could be sacrificed in the summer so that Barça can assist Messi’s return this summer. Following the meeting with Mendes, Ansu’s father stated that he expects his son to stay in the area for the summer. According to AS, Fati, too, is resolute about not leaving Barcelona in the summer. However, La Liga executives want to sell the La Masia graduate. According to the article, Fati’s message to Mendes when they dined on Tuesday was plain and resounding. Ansu Fati wanted to stay at Barcelona and flourish there.

Despite his challenges this season, the Spaniard is convinced that he will return to his best form next season, after he has fully recovered from his current physical issues. As a result, Mendes delivered the same message to Blaugrana executives on Wednesday, despite failing to present the club with the offers he had received for the young attacker. Barça, on the other hand, is in a precarious position as a result of the Financial Fair Play issue and must sell players. Because Ansu is a homegrown player, any transfer fee received would be recorded as net profit in the books.

Wolves has shown interest in signing Fati

“Jorge Mendes has already formalized Wolves’ offer of €30M and Ruben Neves for Ansu Fati. Now, the decision is upto the player. As for Xavi, he doesn’t particularly like Neves, but considering the club’s financial situation, he will accept his arrival.” via @sport

Furthermore, he is attracting interest from some major Premier League clubs, increasing the likelihood of a large fee. Ansu, on the other hand, refuses to entertain that idea. With the summer transfer window fast approaching and Barcelona needing to make a large sale before June 30th. Therefore only time will tell whether Fati stays or departs.
