Barcelona found a Premier League buyer for Clement Lenglet

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

According to a report by journalist Gerard Romero, FC Barcelona have agreed on a loan deal with a Premier League team for the Frenchman Clement Lenglet. The Catalans are desperate to load off certain players due to their financial situation. Lenglet is one of the names on that list. While Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has also excluded him from his plans for next season after signing Eric Garcia and Emerson Royal this summer.

Lenglet started his football career in the youth ranks of AS Nancy Lorraine, and after playing 83 games for the French side he signed for Sevilla. The centre-back stayed only 18 months while appearing 73 times for Sevilla, as Barcelona signed Lenglet in 2018. The Catalans paid an amount of 35 million for securing the Frenchman’s services. Lenglet enjoyed a good debut season at Camp Nou as he was a regular starter in the team with 45 appearances. Till now, the centre-back has appeared 133 times for Barcelona while scoring 7 goals in all competitions.

But, Lenglet’s future at Barcelona is at risk following his poor performances last season. He was part of the Catalan defence that conceded goals very easily. Due to which Barcelona dropped crucial points and lost the chance to win the La Liga title next season.

Following this performance and Barcelona’s new addition of Garcia and Royal at the back, the club has decided to load off Lenglet. While Barcelona’s current financial situation is also forcing to load off the Frenchman this summer. However, as per reports, the Catalans are not thinking of a permanent load off for Lenglet, as they prefer a loan deal for the centre-back. And as per the report, Barcelona have found a Premier League club who are ready to loan Lengel this summer.

Barcelona will loan Lenglet to a Premier League club

FC Barcelona are looking to offload Clement Lenglet this summer, following which two Premier League clubs lined up. First, Everton, it is believed that the Toffees are willing to pay 20 million to sign the centre-back this summer. The interest from Everton is not a surprise as defender Yerry Mina is hinted to leave Goodison Park. And the toffees sees Lenglet as a long-term replacement for the Colombian.

While the second club in the line is West Ham United. The Hammers finished sixth in the Premier League table and secured a Europa League spot for the next season. Following the qualification for the Europa League, they are looking to strengthen their backline, and have shown interest in Lenglet.

However, as per Journalist Gerard Romero, both the above clubs have negative chances to sign Lenglet this summer. While Romero informed in his podcast that Barcelona have agreed on a loan deal for the Frenchman with a Premier League side leaving out the interest from toffees and the hammers. But, the name of the Premier League club is yet to be revealed in the news. So, let’s wait and see which Premier League club has been able to secure the services of Lenglet this summer.
