Barcelona intends to sell Raphinha along with Ansu Fati this summer

Rumor

Director of Barcelona Mateu Alemany predicts a “interesting summer” for Barcelona. A major section of their roster looks to be in doubt as well. Before even considering adding additional players, the Blaugrana are aware that they must save or raise a total of €180 million this summer in order to register the contracts of Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Marcos Alonso.

Barcelona might sell Raphinha, a significant economical move

Raphinha, a Brazilian winger, is one of those who might leave Barca in this summer transfer window. Despite the fact that the former Leeds United star has produced respectable figures this season—10 goals and 11 assists. However there are still some concerns regarding his performance. Raphinha has been crucial to Xavi Hernandez this season, but now that Ousmane Dembele is well, it is probable that Raphinha will be benched. He is a fairly pricey replacement, especially for a strapped accountancy department, according to Diario AS. Raphinha signed a five-year contract worth €65 million (some reports estimate €58 million), with a salary of €12 million. This means that after amortisation, Barcelona will still owe Raphinha €100 million over the following four years.

Given that they have already financed a portion of his fee and salary, they must sell him for at least €52 million. The way his future is handled may have a significant impact on the amount of business Barcelona is able to conduct this summer. With no cost to amortise, Ansu Fati’s sale stands out as the most financially advantageous. Although Ferran Torres’ conditions are identical to Raphinha’s and include an additional €80 million in compensation and fee.

Therefore, one or two players may have to depart, according to club president Joan Laporta. In addition this summer the club plans to bring in a new striker. Without at least two significant sales, it is impossible to imagine that recruitment strategy succeeding. Since Raphinha is more economically advantageous than Ferran given that the latter is younger and likely to fetch a lower transfer price.
