FC Barcelona must complete the sales of a number of players during the forthcoming transfer window in order fulfil their financial and sporting goals for the coming season. The club has chosen the players who they’re willing to sell for this reason. Ansu Fati, a youngster, is one of the players on the club’s shortlist for sale. Previously Fati was regarded as Lionel Messi’s successor and the club’s next face for years to come. However his injury woes and failure to regain form have reduced him to a bench player with Xavi’s squad.
Barcelona will urge Ansu Fati to leave the club this summer
However, the club is willing to sell him during this window because the player is still in demand on the transfer market. But the player is not interested in leaving Barcelona. According to SPORT, Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has assured the club administration that he will persuade the player to depart. In addition the club is also attempting to encourage the player to move. Mendes had planned to include Fati in the deal for Ruben Neves with Wolverhampton Wanderers. However Ansu Fati has rejected it outright.
Mendes is also seeking for a Champions League team in the Premier League where Fati would be more prepared to move. Nevertheless, such a deal would not give Barcelona with the requisite profits because no such team would be willing to spend €60 million for the player. As the club and Mendes continue their efforts to persuade Fati to leave, Ruben Neves’ future is also in doubt. The Portuguese has already spoken his farewell to the English team. But the final agreement between the two clubs is still pending. The club might include Abde or Dest in the deal for Neves. However Mendes favours Fati to be the player swapped by Barcelona in this deal.
As a result, Ansu Fati is under pressure to leave Barcelona this summer, as both his agency and the club try to persuade him to depart. While he scored two goals in his last game, his total season performance does not provide him much influence over negotiations. As a result he could be on his way out of the club.
