Barcelona keen on signing Brazilian wunderkind Natan

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Barcelona are keeping their eyes on Brazilian Natan, who currently plays for Flamengo in Brazil. The 20-year-old center-back is one of the new emerging talents in World football.

La Liga has been the most likely destination for young Brazilians. Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, who are currently playing for Real Madrid are the latest to add their names to the list which is already pretty long with some very notable names.

The Blaugrana are currently facing an injury crisis in their defensive department. Thus, signing him would solve one of their weaknesses. The Brazillian wonderkid would work as a perfect signing for the Catalans. His contract at his current club expires on January 5, 2022.

Barcelona to promote more youngsters like Natan

Natan Bernardo de Souza is one of the most exciting talents currently in the Brazilian Serie A. He is well-known for his character and leadership and has even scored a goal for Flamengo. Natan rose through the ranks of the youth team and has played at the senior team aged just 20.

His release clause has been set at around £60 million. It might seem like a lot of money for an unproven youngster from the Brazilian League. However, Barcelona have a good history with unproven talents.

They have already completed talks with Eric Garcia from Manchester City. Thus, a defensive trio of Sergino Dest, Eric Garcia and Natan would be a great deal for the club’s future considering Clement Lenglet and Umtiti have disappointed this season and Gerard Pique doesn’t have the legs to play week in week out.

Flamengo are doing a great job by providing other big clubs with players such as Vinicius and Reinier especially to La Liga rivals, Real Madrid. Also, another big name from Flamengo is Lucas Paqueta, who currently plays for Olympique Lyonnais.
