Barcelona No longer Rely on Pedri

Pedri

Pedri, the 100 million-worth youngster, was Barca’s pillar over the last few seasons. Due to his injury, others have taken his place and are doing a great job. Hence, Barca isn’t reliant on him anymore.

Barcelona and its Reliance

FC Barcelona had become accustomed to relying on specific individuals for the success of the team over the course of the previous several seasons.

Prior to his departure, it had been Lionel Messi for a few seasons. More recently, statistics demonstrate their reliance on a much younger player.

Pedri the Star-kid

Most football fans are likely familiar with Canary Islands-born 20-year-old Barcelona player Pedri. Not just because of his extraordinary talent, but also because he is one of FC Barcelona’s faces for this generation.

He has helped this Barcelona squad tremendously, and any manager who uses him knows they can count on him. Barcelona hasn’t even been able to win half of the games they’ve played over the past two seasons. When the Golden Boy winner isn’t present.

Free from Dependence On Pedri

As Spanish media site Mundo Deportivo has noted, it looks like FC Barcelona is now finally breaking free from this “peripendence,” as MD terms it.

Pedri and his traditional overdependence on the Catalan giants has not yet been tested this season. They appear to be doing well without their 20-year-old Kopa Trophy champion.

Barcelona has managed to win each and every one of the four games. Barcelona has played four La Liga EA Sports matches. One encounter in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League since his injury.

Games against Villarreal (4-3), Osasuna (2-1), and Real Betis (5-0) were among the league encounters. On the other side, the Belgian team Royal Antwerp was completely destroyed (5-0) in the UEFA Champions League match.

An Asset Nonetheless

In fact, FC Barcelona’s most recent matches have revealed the Catalan powerhouses to exhibit fairly impressive performances even without Pedri. Nevertheless, despite these impressive stats and outcomes for La Blaugrana, Xavi Hernandez still views Pedri as a key player going forward.

Given his exceptional talent and how well his style of play seems to complement how Xavi expects Barcelona to play, Pedri should be one of the first names on the team sheet whenever he returns from injury.
