Barcelona is keeping a keen eye on today’s UEFA Youth League Final. Hajduk Split and AZ Alkmaar will go head to head in the final of the UEFA Youth League. The unlikely pairing of the two underdogs in the final is a surprise to many. As few would have predicted their success at the start of the season. However, both teams will be hoping to claim the ultimate prize in youth football.

AZ Alkmaar has undoubtedly exceeded expectations in this year’s UEFA Youth League. They managed impressive victories against top teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Dutch side has a well-rounded squad of young talents, who have shown great potential throughout the season.

Which players are Barcelona planning to scout?

Diario SPORT reports that Barcelona scouts may attend the UEFA Youth League final between AZ Alkmaar and Hajduk Split. This is to monitor the performances of four players: Luka Vuskovic, Wouter Goes, Mexx Meerdink, and Ro-Zangelo Daal. Hence, the scouts’ presence is a sign of Barcelona’s intention to invest in youth players with potential to improve the squad.

Barcelona scouts are monitoring Mexx Meerdink. He is a striker who scored seven goals in the UEFA Youth League this season for AZ Alkmaar. The 19-year-old’s ability to score goals has been a key factor in Alkmaar’s success in the competition. Meanwhile, Barcelona is already keeping tabs on Vitor Roque this year. They are showing interest in Meerdink due to his potential to become a top-class striker.

Ro-Zangelo Daal is a highly rated left winger who has been impressive for AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League this season. Despite being yet to make his senior debut, the 19-year-old is catching the attention of Barcelona scouts with his speed and technical abilities on the flanks. Nevertheles, with the Catalan club considering the sale of Ferran Torres, Daal could be an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on for the future.
