Barcelona target Dani Olmo’s contract with RB Leipzig expires in 2024, making him a fascinating option this summer. The 25-year-old offensive midfielder is currently available at a reasonable price. While the German team is still hesitant to lose him, other elite clubs are taking notice of his situation.

Barcelona can sign Dani Olmo in 2024

Spanish news outlet Diario AS claims that, while Barcelona are actively considering him, their stance is slightly different. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also shown interest in signing him this summer. But Barcelona wants him to wait another season. This is because the team has yet to respond to the Financial FairPlay rules, and their compliance with La Liga’s salary cap is also off. Because they can’t afford to contract him this summer, they’re doing everything they can to get him for free in 2024.

Many teams saw him as a pure bargain because to his growing experience in the UEFA Champions League as well as representing his national team, Spain, at European Championships and the FIFA World Cup. While Leipzig has yet to place a price tag on him, it is anticipated that a cost of between €30 million and €40 million would be sufficient to lure him away. Leipzig’s position has remained consistent up until the time of writing i.e. they do not want to lose him. However, when the market approaches, they may be pushed to explore all available possibilities.

Barcelona, on the other hand, cannot afford to pay a transfer fee to sign him in the summer, leaving them fully reliant on the player’s wishes. He has not yet renewed his contract with Leipzig, and it appears doubtful that he will. This suggests the player will leave either this summer or in 2024.
