Barcelona rules out rumours of Raphinha’s return

Barcelona has cleared the air on their La Masia product, Raphinha Alcantara. The former PSG player won’t be making a return to Camp Nou.

The Spaniard was not able to establish himself in Barcelona’s senior team after a promotion from the academy. As a result, Raphinha was forced to leave and joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 before Celta Vigo and Inter Milan.

Raphinha’s current scenario

Back in the day, Raphinha was loaned out to Real Sociedad from Paris Saint-Germain. He put up a decent show with some indirect goal contributions and also registered a goal in 20 matches. Since the loan term was over, he went back to PSG.

Recently, the midfielder saw a transfer to England in 2020. That is to say, Leeds United signed him from the French capital for £17 million. PSG had other plans for the center part of their field like landing Kalvin Phillips from Leeds and Frenkie De Jong from Barcelona.

Where does Barcelona stand?

The Blaugrana is very careful in taking any step regarding new signings, thanks to their financial crisis from 2020. In other words, Barcelona simply can’t think about a player whose standards have been lowered over the past few years.

In addition, Camp Nou is healthy with the likes of Pedri, Gavi, and Frenkie De Jong. With more midfielders rumored to be linked with Barcelona like Frank Kessie, the Catalans simply don’t need Raphinha to even be there in their transfer list.

Conclusion

Barcelona doesn’t require the services of Raphinha Alcantara in the La Liga anymore. The club is more than happy with what manager, Xavi Hernandez has in store in terms of midfield. There is however nothing to be done with the Spaniard because Leeds United has already landed him in Elland Road.

In conclusion, Raphinha also has no interest in seeing a Barcelona return as he already knows where he stands as a footballer and willingly signed up for Leeds to make an impact in the Premier League.
