Barcelona signed Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin on 1-year deals

Barcelona have made it official that Hector Bellerin and Marcos Alonso are 2 new signings for the season 22/23. Alonso was a player that had links to Barcelona for a long time. Personal terms were agreed upon months ago but a fee was not decided between Chelsea and Barcelona. Bellerin, meanwhile, came as a free agent. The contract termination with Arsenal was done on the last day and his signing was also done in the last hours. Both Bellerin and Alonso have been signed on a 1-year deal only. Reasons for this were earlier not known but now it seems to be.

As per reports, Barcelona had problems registering them due to FFP regulations. Because of this, they could only register them with short-term contracts with low salaries. Earlier, this was rumored to be a technical decision but now those rumors are brushed off. Barcelona are open to the possibility of extending their contracts next season which will also depend on how they perform. Apart from that, Coach Xavi is happy that his team is now strengthened with 2 quality players. Marcos Alonso was a former Real Madrid player and Bellerin played for Real Betis last season.

Things were not easy for this Barcelona team that struggled with squad depth last season. They still managed to secure UCL football, thanks to Memphis Depay and Aubameyang with their vital goals. This season, it is quite clear that they have a team that can beat anyone. The additions of Lewandowski, Kessie, Kounde, Christensen, Alonso, Bellerin, and Raphinha make this team scary. These signings are now registered in La Liga, which earlier endured some problems. Thanks to Barcelona’s management, they were able to facilitate a lot of departures to make room for new players.

The sky is the limit now for Barcelona

A brilliant squad with a brilliant coach, Barcelona have it all this season. The Catalans are now over their past. They have suffered enough humiliations in Europe and now seems the right time to elevate. Xavi has got the players he wanted this time. Big things await this team and that can be seen on the pitch. The hunger, the determination to win is quite clearly visible. But it is much easier said than done. On the pitch, the chemistry between the new boys will take time.

Moreover, Barcelona will be highly confident of making it out of their UCL group. Bayern and Inter will not be easy opponents for the Catalans. But it will be a big test for them if they can top this group or even be second. Lewandowski will be looking to lead the frontline with Dembele and Raphinha. Big days are coming for the team as they await major tests. Pass or fail, Barcelona have a lot to prove this season. A brilliant start is what they want and it has come. Now the bigger teams await the Blaugranas.
