Barcelona travel to Bernabeu this week

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Real Madrid and Barcelona lock horns this Sunday in what is the biggest game in world football. Los Blancos and the Blaugranas are at the joint top of La Liga. Real Madrid is looking stronger than ever with Benzema also returning from injury. It is fair to say that they had an easy UCL group as compared to other teams. But apart from that, they are firing in La Liga with Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Valverde leading from the front. Barcelona are the only team who have scored more than Los Blancos. The El Clasico on 16th October is going to be a huge game that may give a hint about who will get the title.

As for Barcelona, things are a bit messy. The Catalans sit third in their UCL group behind Inter and Bayern. They have lost both of their games against Inter and Bayern which has go their UCL hopes hanging by a thread. Injuries have not done them a big favor. Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde are out with injuries in the international break. Christensen got an injury in Barcelona’s 1-0 loss to Milan last week. The team under Xavi is not looking in the best of their form which will make title challenging very difficult for them.

This clash is the one that the world awaits. Barcelona travels to the Santiago Bernabeu to take on arch-rivals Real Madrid. The biggest game in world football will be massive as both teams will do anything for the 3 points. Real Madrid are having a great run of form as they are unbeaten the whole season. Barcelona, however, cannot be phased out despite their disappointing results in Champions League. They come into this match with full confidence but a broken squad. Many players on the team are still out due to injuries.

Xavi could start Kounde at Right back

Barcelona are the team who will be the more nervous of the two. Xavi is planning to limit Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior as much as he can. Vinicius Junior will be a menace on the right side and a victory will be easier for Barcelona if they can contain Vini Jr. Barcelona have received a big boost ahead of this mega clash as Jules Kounde is back in the squad.

Xavi has confirmed that the Frenchman is 100% fit. This is a major boost as Barcelona’s defense has struggled in recent games. The win against Celta and the draw against Inter were very fortunate. This had put the fans in a state of bother as they were not at all convinced by the team’s performances. Maybe, Kounde coming in can improve the performance as they desperately need the Frenchman’s pace.
