Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele will return this week

According to AS’s Javi Miguel, the Frenchman’s exclusion from the team will be merely precautionary. Dembele has a track record of injuries at Barcelona, and the medical staff does not want to take any chances. There is a potential that the winger will return against Rayo Vallecano in midweek. If he does not, he will almost probably be selected in the squad to face Real Betis next weekend. To win challenges down the flank, the former Borussia Dortmund star depends on his explosive pace and abilities. Given his drive to speed quickly, the risk of relapse is constantly present.

Xavi Hernandez has already played without his French star for much of the season, and two more games do not look to be a problem. After all, his long-term fitness is the most significant aspect. This season, the 25-year-old has five goals and five assists in 18 La Liga games for Barcelona. Furthermore, he has made seven major chances and averages close to two critical passes per game. Moreover, he has created seven big chances in La Liga alone. Dembele last appeared for Barcelona against Girona in late January, when he suffered an injury in the 26th minute.

Though he was anticipated to return in time for the La Liga El Clasico last month, his comeback was repeatedly postponed. Now, three months later, he could make a return for Xavi’s side this week.
