Bayern Munich full-back crave for a Barcelona move

Julian Araujo

The fact that Barcelona is looking to add a new right-back this summer is no surprise. It is one of the few positions on the club where there is a clear lack of depth, with head coach Xavi Hernandez lacking even one established alternative. In order to allow the experienced right-back Sergi Roberto to play for at least another season, his contract was renewed. However, Barça needs a far more natural right-back who can assist the team progress if they are to compete at the highest level.

Bayern youngster Noussair Mazraoui wants to join Barcelona

The Catalans have shown great interest to a wide range of possibilities all year. Juan Foyth, Benjamin Pavard, and Diogo Dalot’s names have all been mentioned. According to recent reports, the club even spoke with Jeremie Frimpong’s agent.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, Noussair Mazraoui may become popular in Barcelona in the coming weeks. The former Ajax player now playing for Bayern Munich seems dissatisfied in Germany. The defender has only made 17 league appearances since joining the team in the summer of last year. In simple terms, Thomas Tuchel, Bayern Boss, does not trust him. Mazraoui is therefore considering a summer transfer to FC Barcelona. The player was certain to be moving to Barça last summer. But instead he signed with Bayern Munich as the Catalans battled FFP regulations. This time, Barcelona is dealing with similar economic problems. But if they are given fair terms, they would be open to make a move for the Moroccan. If it didn’t work out, the team would look into loaning someone out. On Bayern Munich, a lot will depend.

For his part, Mazraoui is prepared to take every step necessary to compel the relocation to Camp Nou. Barcelona’s strong relationship with his agency may also be a factor in their success in luring the former Ajax youngster to the club this summer.
