Bayern Munich may sign Gavi if Barca fails to register him

The Bundesliga champions are willing to pay a high price for the 18-year-old Barcelona wonderkid. Gavi has improved dramatically since making his first-team debut last season. In the midst of Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties, Ronald Koeman gave the Spaniard his senior debut. He has seized the opportunity with both hands. He emerged as a crucial player for both his club and his country.
The 18-year-old has had a strong season so far in 2022/23, and his market value has grown to €90 million. However, Gavi’s long-term future is questionable due to Barcelona’s difficulties in registering his new deal. If Barcelona’s problems continue, the young wonderkid may be forced to leave as a free agent. Bayern Munich has taken notice of this circumstance.

Gavi accepted a new deal with the Blaugrana in September 2022, which runs through 2026 and has a €1 billion release clause. While the Spanish court permitted his registration in the first team in January, things have since deteriorated. The verdict was overturned in March, forcing the youngster to return to his original registration as a youth-team member wearing his old no.30 jersey. So far, there has been no activity from either side. All parties involved are being cool about the situation because the player wants to continue at Barcelona.

Bundesliga Champions eye a top-tier midfielder

At first appearance, it’s difficult to see why Bayern Munich would be interested in the 18-year-old Barca wonderkid. However, while Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich are indisputable first-choice starts. Thomas Tuchel is limited in his alternatives beyond the duo. Marcel Sabitzer is apparently eager to join Manchester United on a permanent basis. And the Red Devils could go on the offensive in the summer transfer window to capture the Austrian international. Furthermore, Ryan Gravenberch’s future at the Allianz Arena is doubtful. Several Premier League clubs has shown interest in the young Dutchman.
Bayern Munich must explore the market for a top-tier midfielder. As a result, Gavi has appeared on their radar as a prospective contender to strengthen the midfield in the summer transfer season. Nevertheless the Bundesliga champions are willing to pay him an attractive contract to entice him to join them at the Allianz Arena.

Barca must register Gavi by June

Gavi is aware that Barcelona has made his registration a top priority. They have told him that there will be no problems, which is why the youngster refuses to listen to any other team’s offerings. Surprisingly, if Barcelona does not register him by June, the 18-year-old will be available on a free transfer, which is precisely what has made him a desirable commodity in the transfer market.

Chelsea may compete with Bayern for Barca wonderkid

In that regard, Chelsea may be active in the race, and Bayern Munich is the most recent candidate. According to reports, the Bavarians have informed Gavi’s representation that if he want to leave Barcelona, a lucrative contract offer awaits him in Germany.

However, the 18-year-old wants to stay at Spotify Camp Nou past the summer transfer window. And he will be ready to wait as long as possible for the registration of his contract to be confirmed. Barcelona is looking into all feasible methods for reducing their salary expense. Once that is completed, the team will turn their attention to the renewal and registration of players, as well as the new signings.
