Bayern Munich slap a huge price tag on Lewandowski

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Bayern Munich has decided to cash out Robert Lewandowski for a staggering £42.9 million and doesn’t seem to be interested in any price less than that.

Robert Lewandowski wants to conclude his tenure at Bayern Munich after eight years in the state of Bavaria. The Polish international became one of Europe’s top scorers during this time, while also leaving a lasting impression at the Allianz Arena.

Barcelona is interested in Lewandowski

Both the player and the club have shown interest in each other for a while now. Lewandowski openly stated that he only sees Camp Nou to be his next home. On the other hand, Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has been wanting the 33-year-old to play for the Blaugrana.

Catalona’s striker drought

The Catalans aimed to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund but couldn’t achieve the feat. Due to Manchester City satisfying the striker’s demands and promising silverware, the Norweigan signed for the Premier League. However, Barcelona were rejected by the Bavarians when a laughable £25 million was the initial bid.

The Spaniards are suffering from a financial crisis but still are not giving up on the Polish international. They raised the bid to £34 million without add-ons and are looking forward to holding a direct meeting with the Bayern bosses.

Bavaria’s final offer

The 6-time Champions League winners have decided to cash in their top striker for £43 million apart from add-ons. This made Barcelona negotiate for a better deal but the Germans don’t seem to be convinced.

Sadio Mane joining Bayern Munich

Former Liverpool player Sadio Mane who is now a free agent has officially joined Bayern Munich. Liverpool sold Mane to the Germans for £41 million. Oliver Kahn is pleased with Mane’s signing and looks forward to goal-scoring threats alongside Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane.

However, Bayern is trying to make up for this transfer by selling Lewandowski. Bavarians would be happy to close the transfer window on that note. It all now depends on how Barcelona is willing to play their cards on the table.

Should Lewandowski join Barcelona?

There isn’t a single trophy the Polish haven’t lifted while he was in the Allianz Arena. It is absolutely normal for a player to switch to a new challenge after getting used to the old one. The Champions League winner wished to leave Bayern for Barcelona for a long time now.

The off-color Barcelona under Ronald Koeman was able to redeem itself after Xavi Hernandez took charge. They even defeated arch-rivals Real Madrid 4-0 despite the Los Blancos having an amazing year in all competitions. Seeing this, Lewandowski joining the club will definitely strengthen their attack and win more silverware.
